Sleepover Club present their inaugural fundraiser, taking shape as a silent auction and arts party on the 3rd of November at Allpress Studios, Collingwood.

Over the past eighteen months, SC have published three online Editions of contemporary art and writing from predominantly feminist, queer and poc perspectives and held exhibitions and events throughout Melbourne - being supported by/supporting and collaborating with local and international artists, writers and organisations. We’ve shown the work of more than 50 artists and writers and collaborated with the likes of Fresh and Fruity, The Human Rights Arts and Film Festival, Listen, Lokal Stories and Open Spaces.

All of our work thus far has been funded directly by us or through the support of our networks. The members of Sleepover Club and our collaborators have contributed countless hours of love labor to the initiative, but now we want to commit to paying artists and volunteers for their work.

Our 2016 Fundraiser Auction presents a varying selection of works from a wide range of local and interstate artists. The works will be organised via price point, with some starting at $50 and others at $200. Artists have the choice to donate between 50%-100% of the funds to Sleepover Club.

Our inaugural fundraiser is an excellent opportunity to collect work, whilst supporting Australian artists, many of whom we work with are young, emerging, LGBTQIA+ and often unrepresented. All funds raised from the silent auction, drink sales and entry will go toward paying the event’s performers and kickstarting our exhibitions for 2017.
